Q: What kind of photos do I need to provide?
A: Ideally, high-resolution digital scans work best. However, we can work with clear smartphone photos of old prints as long as they are well-lit and not blurry. The better the quality of the original, the more seamless the final family portrait will look.
Q: Can you add someone from a very old, black-and-white photo into a modern colour photo?
A: Yes. We can colourise the older image to match the lighting and tones of your modern family photo, or I can convert the entire new photo to black-and-white for a classic, timeless feel.
Q: How do you make sure the person looks like they were actually there?
A: We pay close attention to "environmental matching." This includes adjusting the lighting, shadows, and grain of the added person so they match the rest of the group. Our goal is to create a "Living Memory" where the edit is invisible.
Q: Is there a limit to how many people can be added to one photo?
A: There is no strict limit, though the composition looks best when there is natural "space" in the target photo. If you aren't sure if everyone will fit, feel free to send over the images and I can advise on the best layout.
Q: What is the turnaround time for a custom memory photo?
A: Most projects are completed within 3 to 5 days, If you need the photo for a specific event like an anniversary or a funeral service, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your deadline.
Q: Will I receive a physical print or a digital file?
A: You will receive a high-resolution digital file that is ready for printing at any size.
Q: Can you turn my child (or an adult!) into a superhero or a fantasy character?
A: Absolutely. This is one of our favourite creative projects. We can take a standard photo and digitally "costume" the person, add cinematic backgrounds (like a cityscape or a mystical forest), and include special effects like glowing energy or capes. It makes for a truly one-of-a-kind gift.
Q: I have a small, blurry photo. Can it be made large enough to print on a big canvas?
A: Yes. We use professional upscaling technology to increase the resolution of your images. This process sharpens the details and removes "noise" or pixelation, allowing small or older digital photos to be printed at much larger sizes without losing clarity.
Q: Can you turn my still photos into a video?
A: Yes. We can. We offer "Image-to-Video" services where we add subtle motion—such as moving clouds, flowing water, or gentle light shifts—to a still portrait. We can also compile several photos into a high-quality slideshow with music, perfect for memorials, birthdays, or anniversaries.
